BITT – Technology Consulting Rhineland-Palatinate
The BITT – Technology Consulting Rhineland-Palatinate provides funding of up to €7,500 and supports the digitalization of SMEs. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate supports advisory measures in the field of innovation and technology. In this blog post, we give you a guide on how to successfully complete your BITT application.
What is BITT?
BITT stands for Promotion of Innovation and Technology Transfer Consultancy. The funding is intended to provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Rhineland-Palatinate with access to the latest scientific, technological and organizational findings through technology-oriented consultations, assessments, and database research. Eligible for funding are consultations on the following topics:
-technology-oriented consultations
Consultations on the organizational development of a company-specific quality management system (QMS)
Consultations on the organizational development of a company-specific innovation management system (IMS)
-Evaluations of technology-oriented funding projects
-utilization of information agencies
-utilization of database research
-consulting on the introduction of unique EDP/information technology
Why you should use the BITT funding
To remain competitive, companies today are dependent on their innovative strength and the latest technologies. Without external consulting, this is often difficult to implement efficiently internally. However, many SMEs cannot afford to do it themselves because they lack the funds to invest in external consultancy services or they are looking for a grant for their investments.
BITT is an excellent program for all SMEs in Rhineland-Palatinate to strengthen their innovative capacity and upgrade their technology.
Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant of a maximum of 400 € per day’s work. A total of 15 days’ work, i.e., 6,000 €, can be funded for the use of information centers and database research up to 500 €, i.e., a total of 7,500 €.
To implement the findings from the consultation, the DigiBoost funding program can be applied for with a funding rate of up to 15,000 €.
Who can apply for funding
Small and medium-sized enterprises according to the respective valid EU definition (SME) with a place of business in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The application process
Applications must be submitted via the chamber responsible for the applicant company (Chamber of Crafts, Chamber of Industry and Commerce). The chamber makes a funding recommendation to the ISB.

It is essential that you do not start the counselling until the ISB has approved the application. Otherwise, you will not be able to claim the funding.
