Henkell Sektkellerei is one of the hidden champions from Wiesbaden. In 1832, the company was founded by Adam Henkell in Mainz. He was one of the first in Germany to master the technique of making sparkling wine from wine. In 1909 Henkell moved to Wiesbaden and was finally sold to the Oetker Group in 1958. Today, the company with its 3500 employees has a turnover of more than 820€ million.
